    Irish newspaper cuts staff pay by 10%

    The Irish Examiner newspaper has indicated it will cut staff pay by 10%.

    The company that controls the newspaper, Thomas Crosbie Holdings, informed representatives at the Cork-based national newspaper that they would be seeking the paycut.

    While unions at the Irish Examiner have been trying to come to a compromise with the company for some time, it has agreed to ask its members to accept a 10% paycut from October 1st.

    Staff are expecting be briefed on the financial state of the newspaper shortly.
